Pridham's verbal auction estimates are free of charge; it can be done by emailing photographs and descriptions or by seeing your property.

Please begin the process by sending or emailing us photos and descriptions. Include some dimensions, if you can, and any available information about the signatures, labels, maker’s mark, medium/material and physical condition.

Marketing Your Property

Over the last 30 years, Pridham's has developed an important network of contacts in the art and decorative arts industry. Specific communications will be used on an auction-by-auction basis.

Pre-sale Estimates

The estimates we provide reflect our best opinion of the price that will attract the most bidders and realize the best price. They are based, where possible, on prices paid for comparable items sold in the past. Pridham's has access to several national and international databases filled with sales results.

In the end, the actual selling price will always depend on the number of interested bidders and how enthused they are to own your property.

Moving Your Property from Your House to Our Gallery

Pridham's will be pleased to discuss with you the most efficient way to bring your property to its facility. Where and when feasible, we will pick up the item(s). If you live far away or in more complicated situations, we will work with you to arrange for a qualified shipper to meet your needs. Note: We must have your property early enough to photograph it, put it online and market it correctly.

The Consignment Agreement

Once we agree to sell your precious antiques, art, jewelry and other treasures in one of our auctions, we will provide you with a written document or Pridham's Auction Contract and Consignment Agreement. 

For Your Records

As a consignor, you will receive a signed document on Pridham's letterhead, also known as the consignor’s agreement, along with an inventory sheet listing all your properties.

Commissions and fees

A prospective seller’s first question is often about the commission or the percentage of the selling price that Pridham's retains as a service fee.

Both the size of your property, number of items and its rarity may have an impact upon the agreed final commission. Pridham's will offer competitive rates while offering superior service, representation and marketing.

After The Sale

At Pridham's we understand the importance of being paid in a timely manner. Pridham’s will mail a cheque and report to the consignor usually within one week.
